Responsibilities
Owns the configuration, maintenance, optimization, and governance of the Staffing & Scheduling System, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance
Serves as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to leaders regarding system capabilities, staffing models, and workforce utilization; develops advanced reports and dashboards to support operational and financial decision-making
Independently evaluates real-time staffing variances and executes coverage strategies in accordance with policy, patient acuity, regulatory requirements, and approved budget parameters
Directs and coordinates the assignment and redeployment of nursing staff, including per diem staff, Constant Attendants, and UR/PCTs; analyzes staffing variances and escalates trends, risks, and recommended corrective actions to nursing and operational leadership
Partners cross-functionally with Nursing, Finance, Human Resources, and non-clinical departments to enhance workforce planning, staffing efficiency, and system utilization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Minimum of 2 years' experience in health care setting preferred
Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in healthcare staffing, workforce management, system administration, or operational analytics preferred
Previous experience as a System Administrator preferred
Demonstrated experience administering enterprise scheduling or workforce management systems preferred
Demonstrates advanced organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to independently prioritize work impacting operational and financial outcomes
Ability to interpret staffing, productivity, and labor data; identify trends; and translate findings into actionable recommendations for leadership
Exercises sound judgment and discretion in staffing decisions with direct impact on labor expense, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
Ability to perform detailed assignments, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and leadership
Maintains a high degree of concentration despite frequent interruptions and competing priorities
Preferred
Computer experience with emphasis on spreadsheets and database systems preferred
Ability to understand the complexities of a staffing and scheduling system and effectively educate users
