Public Policy & Advocacy Manager
TalentRemedy is seeking a mission-driven leader for the role of Policy & Research Manager, focused on social justice and youth advocacy. The manager will lead advocacy strategies, community movement-building efforts, and data-informed research initiatives, ensuring that policymakers and community partners receive meaningful research grounded in lived experiences.
Responsibilities
Develop policy priorities and recommendations
Track legislation, draft policy proposals, and provide testimony
Build and lead coalitions and relationships with decision-makers
Represent the organization in public speaking, media, and advocacy spaces
Ensure compliance with lobbying and nonprofit advocacy regulations
Develop and lead an annual research agenda
Oversee research design, data collection, qualitative engagement, analysis, and reports
Translate data into accessible, impactful publications, presentations, and briefings
Manage projects similar to KIDS COUNT, including data analysis, reporting, and public release
Organize youth, families, and community stakeholders to elevate lived experiences
Lead policy forums, listening sessions, focus groups, and storytelling initiatives
Engage networks such as youth development programs and faith-based organizers
Supervise policy and organizing team members
Lead grant writing, reporting, and fundraising support
Collaborate on strategic planning, performance tracking, and communications
Respond to external data and information requests
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in public policy, social work, economics, education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of supervisory experience
Skilled in policy advocacy, research, and coalition building
Experience with grant writing, reporting, or fund development
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, research tools, and data analysis software
Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
Preferred
Doctorate degree or advanced research credentials
Experience managing lived experience research or community organizing
Project management expertise
