Flex II Machine Operator

GE Aerospace is advancing aviation technologies for today and tomorrow, and they are seeking a Flex II Machine Operator to operate a variety of machines to manufacture aircraft engine components. The role involves setting up and operating machine tool applications, performing component checks, and instructing and training other employees.

Responsibilities

Perform all phases of initial set-up, maintain all operating adjustments, and load and unload machines
Use measuring devices, fixtures, gages, and flow checking facilities to perform complete component checks and manufacturing processes of major and minor parts relating to turbine airfoil manufacturing
Work to close tolerance from verbal or written instructions, blueprints, or sketches
Instruct and train other employees
Perform preventative maintenance and related duties

Required

High School diploma or equivalent
Graduate of a Vocational High School OR graduate of other equivalent accredited manufacturing program
Able to work 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM) and/or 3rd shift (12:00 AM to 7:00 AM)
You must have the ability to lift, move, and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Preferred

Ability to verify and inspect own work using micrometers
Ability to run manual equipment concurrently
Ability to work effectively in a cellular, team-oriented environment
Ability to work under general direction with minimal supervision
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and a teaming environment
Reading and writing proficiency to help understand work instructions such as quality sheets and inspection reports
Experience machining to aerospace standards and specifications
