Responsibilities

Employer Relationship Management Own and manage a portfolio of strategic employer partners aligned with UT’s academic strengths and workforce priorities
Serve as a strategic advisor to employer partners, helping them design long-term recruiting strategies that align business needs with student talent and interests
Lead high-level conversations with hiring managers and company leaders to secure year-round opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students
Translate employer hiring demand and student interest into actionable engagement strategies
Partner with employers to co-design work-integrated opportunities (e.g., early talent programs, paid projects, internships, or pathway models) aligned to real hiring demand and student development
Communications & Cross-Functional Collaboration Shape how UT Austin communicates its talent value proposition to employers, translating academic excellence into workforce-ready outcomes
Partner closely with career services leaders, recruiting operations, and corporate relations teams to align employer engagement efforts across campus
Contribute insights and recommendations to cross-functional initiatives focused on employer engagement, student outcomes, and workforce strategy
Recruiting Strategy and Workforce Insights Advise employers on recruiting strategies that improve quality of hire by aligning early talent engagement, hiring timing, and campus touchpoints with both employer needs and student interests
Leverage labor market data, hiring trends, and student preferences to help employers optimize recruiting timing, events, branding, and investment decisions
Analyze qualitative and quantitative hiring data to surface insights that inform employer advising and institutional strategy
Business Development and Ecosystem Growth Identify and pursue high-impact employers and new business units aligned with UT’s priority industries and student pipelines
Expand existing employer relationships by uncovering new opportunities for hiring, engagement, and collaboration
Represent UT Austin at industry and community events as a strategic connector and talent partner
Operational Excellence and Systems Building Design and implement scalable employer account management processes, engagement plans, and timelines
Contribute to data analytics projects and employer insights efforts to support continuous improvement and decision making
Support institution-wide initiatives that strengthen UT’s employer engagement infrastructure and strategy

Required

Bachelor's degree and five or more years of experience in business development, client or account management, workforce development, talent acquisition, employer relations, or closely related fields
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes
Strong analytical skills with experience translating data into insights and recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive audiences
Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong understanding of job market trends, hiring practices, and recruiting processes
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Preferred

MBA or Master's degree in a related field
Experience working in higher education, university recruiting, corporate relations, or in industry roles that partner closely with universities on early talent, workforce development, or strategic partnerships
Proven ability to build relationships across students, alumni, faculty, staff, and employers
Experience leveraging technology and platforms to support employer engagement and recruiting strategy
Familiarity with tools such as 12Twenty, Smartsheet, Canva, and advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables

Benefits

Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
