Responsibilities

Assist with lab maintenance and chores: wash glassware, supplies, prepare basic solutions, and media, take away trash, etc
Conduct research in the lab
Conduct research in the greenhouse
Collect and analyze data
Field work
Writing and reporting of research
Present results to the scientific community and for publication
Supervision of student worker, undergraduate students and technicians that assist with research

Required

PhD in plant biology, genetics, or breeding-related field
Molecular and cellular biology knowledge and skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven publication record
Some experience with bioinformatics
Work independently, as well as an integral member of a team
Experience with breeding, genetic mapping, and molecular genetics including computational expertise is required
Knowledge of and/or experience with plant and bacterial genetic engineering including gene editing is preferred
Standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, enduring outside and/or inside elements for extended periods of time, travel to/from multiple locations as needed for job duties
Driving
