Distance Learning Operations Coordinator

Schoolcraft College is a comprehensive, open-door, community-based college focused on providing transformational learning experiences. The Distance Learning Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing the department’s operations, coordinating events, and facilitating tasks to ensure the successful operation of the Distance Learning Department.

Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with Course Managers and the Dean with the department’s Distance Learning offerings (online, hybrid, and synchronous remote). Assists with department procedures for Distance Learning (DL) offerings, including analysis, collection, and collaboration with faculty and appropriate offices
Plans, executes, and manages all aspects of office operations and communication outreach. Serves as a point of contact for prospective students, current students, faculty, and staff. Administers department’s activities and procedures in partnership with appropriate parties. In coordination with the Dean, initiates and manages financial analysis, financial forecasting, and management of the department’s budget
In collaboration with the Dean and department, administers the design, development, implementation, and assessment of department procedures and strategies. Recommends changes in policies and procedures to improve effectiveness of programs and services to promote retention. Serves as a point of contact/liaison with other offices related to department operating procedures, programs, and related activities
Works with the appropriate offices in developing department/program promotional materials and tools. Identifies, maintains, and updates departmental website content, needs, and opportunities in coordination with the Dean, DL Department, Marketing office, OCA office, and Academics. Works collaboratively with the Dean regarding DL promotion
Prepares, submits, and stores annual program surveys (NC-SARA reporting and other surveys, as determined in support of the department). Stays current on state regulation for distance learning research and requirements and updates print, digital, and web materials accordingly. Ensures conformity of DL components with national, state, and institutional guidelines. Knowledgeable of FERPA. Collaborates with and informs key stakeholders
Coordinates and works collaboratively with internal student service offices to coordinate outreach, analyze data, gather research, and recommend strategies or activities to support optimal mutual partnership returns. Serves as a DL point of contact for various student-related outreach activities (e.g., CRM)
Coordinates, analyzes, and implements DL department processes for faculty evaluations and other faculty processes, as determined. Collaborates with Course Managers and instructional offices, where applicable, to streamline processes for continuous improvement and in support of department goals
In collaboration with the Dean and departments, creates, analyzes, and disseminates statistical reports related to the ongoing quality assessment of DL programs, DL courses, student access, student demographics, and student success data indicators and enrollment trends
Serves as liaison for the department, Dean, other related stakeholders, as determined; serves on committees, task forces, and work groups, as determined in collaboration with the dean to support department needs

Required

Bachelor's degree in related field
Two (2) years of higher education office management experience
Skilled in the use of computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), reporting tools, web pages, and other technical programs

Preferred

Office management experience with higher education distance learning programs
Project management experience
Proven experience in the use of Windows operating systems, collaboration tools (i.e., Zoom, Teams, Collaborate), and learning management systems (i.e., Blackboard)
