Industrial Engineering Technician/Estimator

Weber Knapp is seeking an Industrial Engineering Technician/Estimator to prepare cost estimates and engineering documentation for new and revised products. The role involves gathering estimating data, submitting RFQs, reviewing tooling quotes, and participating in design review meetings.

Responsibilities

Preparation of Cost Estimates and Engineering Documentation for New and Revised Products
Gather/Calculate all estimating data for Sales Cost Requests
Submit RFQ’s to Purchasing Department for new or modified materials
Obtain and Review Tooling Quotes from Manufacturing/Tool Engineers
Input of proposed manufacturing methods into ERP Estimating/Quoting Module
Writing Engineering Orders for new products and changes to existing products
Input of approved BOM and Routing updates to ERP system
Preparation of detailed Process Work Instructions
Production print generation and revisions using Solidworks
Participate in weekly Sales/Engineering Cost/Design Review Meeting
Additional Tasks may include Motion and Time Study for Process Rate Determination
Actual cost versus estimated cost audits

Required

Solid mechanical aptitude
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Methods
Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the office and factory floor
Equivalent experience considered
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Preferred

Proficiency using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD preferred
Education - Two-year technical or financial degree preferred
