Responsibilities

Support the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond
Work on the design, analysis, development, and qualification of pressurized liquid and gas systems on a reusable launch vehicle in extreme environments from cryogenic to hot gas temperatures
Share the team’s impact on all aspects of detailed mechanical design, requirements, layouts, analysis, component selection, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, and test definition

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
2+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems
Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to analyze pressurized systems and secondary structures (ANSYS preferred)
Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Proven understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and other pressurized hardware
Solid understanding of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control techniques relevant to tubes, machined components, and welded hardware

Preferred

Master's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
Experience designing systems with Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Methane in liquid and/or gaseous states
Experience in system layout or component design for launch vehicles or ground cryogenic and pressure systems
Experience with thermo-fluid solver applications Thermal Desktop (Sinda Fluint), AFT (Fathom/Arrow), Excel-based models, REFPROP
Experience in basic fluid system analysis using hand calculations, not limited to software-based analysis
Proven understanding of materials properties and related processes; preference for aerospace materials
Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems
Experience in all phases of integrating routed fluid systems in-ground based or flight vehicle applications
Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC) related to fluid components, machined parts, weldments, and electro-mechanical assemblies
Experience with structural analysis and validation for tubing, secondary structure and/or fluid components
