Software Design Engineer (contract)

Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot audio certification test failures reported by external partners and escalation engineers
Create test errata documentation to address and overturn partner certification failures
Develop and implement test content fixes and improvements to enhance certification processes
Execute comprehensive certification test passes to ensure quality and compliance
Verify that audio drivers successfully meet certification requirements
Fine-tune and improve sophisticated software implementation projects related to audio testing
Gather and analyze system requirements and document technical specifications
Modify existing programs to meet new standards and conduct thorough unit testing
Prepare detailed software specifications and comprehensive test plans
Provide quality assurance reviews and perform post-implementation validation
Resolve bugs and issues identified during testing phases
Enhance internal debugging tools to improve diagnostic capabilities
Qualification
Required
5-7 years of professional software engineering experience
Large systems software design and development experience
Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting with both new and legacy production systems
Background working with device drivers preferred
Experience with audio or media technologies highly desirable
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
Advanced C++ programming with minimum 3 years of experience
Windows device driver development with minimum 3 years of experience
Advanced debugging on Windows with minimum 4 years of experience
Strong foundation in computer science principles including data structures and algorithms
In-depth troubleshooting and unit testing capabilities
Problem diagnosis and resolution expertise
Software design and development for large systems
