Responsibilities
Direct and manage new business intake and conflicts processes to ensure compliance with ethical and firm standards
Review new clients and matters, including conflict results, engagement letters, waivers, screening walls, and intake form responses
Review conflict results for lateral hire candidates and prepare related memos and screening documentation
Draft waiver letters and ethical walls as needed
Monitor the firm’s docket system for compliance with policies
Assist in training new conflicts coordinators and docket clerks
Ensure compliance with privacy protections, including HIPAA and identity theft safeguards
Maintain and update outside counsel guidelines database
Support development and implementation of risk management strategies and best practices
Qualification
Required
Previous law firm experience required; Am Law 200, leading regional, or major boutique firm experience preferred
JD and active law license in the state of employment
Minimum 3 years of experience in client intake and conflict resolution at a mid-to-large law firm
InTapp Open experience is absolutely required
Strong legal research, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to interpret and prepare complex written materials
Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with attorneys, management, and staff
Preferred
Prior experience with automated conflicts and workflow systems
Experience in docket management
Knowledge of risk management policies and compliance requirements
