The N.C. Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. The Correctional Case Manager will manage a caseload of offenders, developing case plans and coordinating rehabilitation programs to assist in their transition back into the community.

Responsibilities

Developing case plans, answering and following up on offender questions and problems, and making recommendations to the classification committee

Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education, or recreation as well as transition planning and coordinating

Planning and coordinate transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community

Required

Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of custody experience within the North Carolina Department of Public Safety; or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission

Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments
