Responsibilities
Preliminary and detailed design of new bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other civil structures
Preliminary and detailed rehabilitation design of existing bridges, culverts and retaining walls
Analysis and design of structural systems and components using industry standard structural design software and preparation of formal design calculation packages
Preparation of drawing markups for CAD production and review of CAD drawings
Technical reports and proposal writing
Quantity calculations
Collaborate with engineers of other disciplines
Work on defined tasks under the close supervision of a senior engineer
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil Engineering with structural focus
Licensed or on track for licensure as a Professional Engineer
4+ years of experience with prior work done on infrastructure/bridge projects
Design experience with applicable bridge design codes, notably AASHTO and AREMA
Experience with the design of new bridges and overall understanding of bridge engineering practice and current technologies
Proficiency with industry standard structural design and analysis software with bridge engineering applications
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Strong communication skills essential for team-based working
Motivated and willing to take on new challenges
Preferred
Master's degree in Structural Engineering
