Responsibilities

Serves as the single point of contact at all times, for all Emergency Action (EA) directives for defense readiness posture changes, actual direction of forces outlined in Emergency Actions Program annexes and all applicable DA directives and tables
Interfaces with State emergency services and Federal Disaster management agencies to manage contingency operations involving Army forces in Alaska
Develop and control operational reporting procedures in response to requirements for operational information from Alaska
Conduct exercises/tests for command center personnel to ensure standardized operations and maintains assigned personnel at optimum readiness to respond to any situation

One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in managing components of emergency management program(s) utilizing guidance to coordinate preparedness and/or response to various manmade and natural disasters; to include radiological, chemical, and/or nuclear emergency response
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09)
One year of specialized experience which includes managing components of emergency management program(s) utilizing guidance to coordinate preparedness and/or response to various manmade and natural disasters; to include radiological, chemical, and/or nuclear emergency response
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
