Pharmacist Editor, Drug Interaction Specialist

Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications. They are seeking a Pharmacist Editor, Drug Interaction Specialist, who will lead the development and maintenance of drug interaction content and support the creation of other drug information and pharmacotherapy materials.

Responsibilities

Critically evaluate and synthesize biomedical literature, regulatory updates (e.g., FDA labeling changes), and emerging data to determine the clinical significance and appropriate management recommendations for drug interactions
Define the editorial scope, depth, and presentation standards for drug interaction content
Develop and maintain comprehensive editorial guidelines, policies, and procedures for all drug interaction content
Collaborate with product and technology teams to identify opportunities to enhance the Content Management System (CMS) to improve the efficiency, quality, and output of the drug interaction content
Maintain currency on clinical practice and FDA Guidance for Industry related to drug interactions to ensure content is aligned with latest regulatory compliance standards
Provide clinical support to the editorial team by actively monitoring and reviewing new FDA drug approvals, safety alerts, and labeling changes; revising existing drug monographs; creating new monographs; and reviewing all related pharmacotherapy content to ensure continuous accuracy, currency, and adherence to evidence-based practice

Required

PharmD degree required
7+ years of relevant pharmacy and/or editorial experience
2+ years of medical writing/editing experience
In-depth knowledge of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and specific mechanisms of drug interactions
Ability to use pharmacy practice background and expertise in pharmacotherapy to organize and develop drug information based on clinical needs of physician readers
Ability to prepare additional material or rewrite content, as needed and match publication style and requirements
