Senior Compliance Analyst
JPS Health Network is a tax-supported healthcare system in North Texas, employing over 7,200 people. The Senior Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Compliance and Privacy Programs by researching, monitoring, and auditing systems to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
Assists with investigation of potential regulatory or compliance violations received by e-mail, voice-mail, hotline, or walk-ins to determine the validity of the concerns and provide remediation efforts for prompt resolution
Researches and validates the monthly exclusion check outcomes of all JPS employees, medical staff, residents, volunteers and accounts payable vendors in support of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE), Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusion List, and U.S. General Service Administration’s System for Award Management (SAM) Exclusions
Performs ongoing and proactive monitoring of inappropriate accesses to electronic medical records (EMR) through effective use of the Compliance Department’s automated EMR privacy auditing solution, in accordance with the HITECH and HIPAA Security Rule
Schedules, designs, and performs Compliance “Educational Roadshows” and HIPAA site reviews as part of the Training and Education edict of the FSG Effective Compliance Program
Participates in the ongoing assessment of compliance and privacy risks and designs monitoring and auditing tools or activities to mitigate regulatory violations
Enters, tracks and trends reported compliance concerns using proprietary software programs
Stays abreast of Special Fraud Alerts and changes to the OIG Work Plan escalating issues to management
Responsible for analyzing and documenting discoveries stemming from compliance risk assessments, audits and/or Compliance Program Internal Monitoring activities
Actively participates in auditing, monitoring, and reporting on identified findings
Responsible for conducting risk assessments of third-party vendors to evaluate their compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Prepare and maintain documentation related to third-party management activities, including generating regular reports and updates for management on vendor compliance status
Oversees and manages the Compliance Program policies and procedures (p/p), along with other Compliance Program owned p/p, ensuring timely revisions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business, Accounting, English, Healthcare Law or other related field from an accredited college or university
4 years of experience working with compliance in a hospital, medical practice, or healthcare environment
Preferred
Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Law or a related field of study from an accredited college or university
Healthcare Compliance Certification (CHC) or Certified Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)
