Responsibilities

Learn how to install coax (RG6, LMR400, ½”), UTP, multiconductor, DAS, AV, access control, intrusion detection, and fiber-optic cable
Learn how to install racks, cabinets, cable supports, and firestop materials
Learn industry-standard copper and fiber color codes
Learn how to terminate basic copper connectors
Perform basic cutting, labeling, pulling, dressing, and terminating of cabling
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Maintain professional appearance per company policies
Provide reliable transportation to and from work sites
Comply with all department standards, policies, and procedures
Learn the importance of safety and professionalism for optimal job performance
Learn the correct tools and methodologies for various tasks
Travel may be required
Read, understand, follow, and promote company policies and procedures
Follow direction from Leads, Foremen, and equipment manuals
Learn basic material identification and handling
Assist in the installation of coax (RG6, LMR400, ½”), UTP, multiconductor, DAS, AV, access control, intrusion detection, and fiber-optic cables
Assist in the installation of racks, cabinets, cable supports, and firestop materials
Assist in installing electronic equipment (switches, UPS, cameras, etc.)
Provide and properly use required hand tools (tool list provided)
Successfully terminate basic copper connectors
Perform cutting, labeling, pulling, dressing, and terminating of cabling
Assist with basic operation of cable test equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Maintain professional appearance per company policies
Provide reliable transportation to and from work sites
Comply with all department standards, policies, and procedures
Demonstrate a full understanding of the importance of safety and professionalism
Select appropriate tools and methodologies for assigned tasks
Travel may be required
Read, understand, follow, and promote company policies and procedures
Know copper and fiber color codes
Follow direction from Leads, Foremen, and equipment manuals
Continue expanding knowledge of materials and installation components

Qualification

Required

0–1 year of experience in low-voltage installation or related construction fields
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Must pass a drug screen, background check, and I-9 verification
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and communicate clearly
Close vision required for detailed tasks
OSHA 10 required

Preferred

Relevant certifications and licenses preferred but not required
