Cable Assembler

Responsibilities
Interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), electrical schematics, wire lists and work instructions to a assemble and fabricate electrical cables and wire harnesses
Strip, crimp, solder and terminate wires using manual and automated tools
Cut wires and cables to specified lengths and route wiring bundles neatly and accurately
Install connectors, back shells, labels, heat shrink tubing, lace, and other required components
Follow company, industry, and regulatory standards, IPC/WHMA‐A‐620 qualification preferred, IPC/WHMA-A-620 knowledge highly valued
Comply with departmental safety requirements and contribute to the quality improvement process
Knowledge of ESD protocols and clean room procedures preferred
Capable of using a broad range of power and hand tools
Use crimpers, soldering irons, cutters, strippers, tweezers, microscopes, and measurement tools safely and effectively
Maintain workstations, tools, and equipment to ensure a clean and organized assembly environment
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing assembly tasks
Fine motor skills for handling small components and precision tools
Ability to lift and move materials or equipment up to 25 lbs
2+ years of experience with assembly, rework, repair, inspection of cable and mechanical assemblies
Must be able to read and interpret a variety of complex production documentation
Must be able to perform independent problem solving, resolve assembly problems, and interface with functional groups outside department
Demonstrated ability and competence in one or more areas of expertise
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience with assembly, rework, repair, inspection of cable and mechanical assemblies
Must be able to read and interpret a variety of complex production documentation
Must be able to perform independent problem solving, resolve assembly problems, and interface with functional groups outside department
Demonstrated ability and competence in one or more areas of expertise
Preferred
IPC/WHMA‐A‐620 qualification preferred
IPC/WHMA-A-620 knowledge highly valued
Knowledge of ESD protocols and clean room procedures preferred
