They are seeking a Graduate Intern to assist the MDU division with tasks related to flooding, drainage concerns, and environmental inspections, while also engaging in public education and outreach activities.

Responsibilities

Assisting the MDU division with tasks related to flooding and drainage concern investigations

Construction site SWPPP reviews and inspections

Floodway and levee inspections

Municipal pollution prevention inspections

TPDES permitting

Drone mapping

Waterway bathymetrics

Bioassessments

Citywide watershed basin evaluations

Assisting with collecting field data

Conducting surveys and other research including analyzing, tracking and summarizing informational and statistical data

Assisting with public education, outreach activities and events

Providing assistance with special projects

Preparing PowerPoint presentations, maps, exhibits and a variety of reports, spreadsheets, correspondence and other documents

Performing clerical tasks, such as answering the telephone and filing

Regular interaction with the other City departments and outside agencies
