Postdoctoral Scholar Research
The University of South Florida Libraries is seeking two postdoctoral fellows for the Heckmann Lab at USF Health Neuroscience Institute and Byrd Alzheimer’s Center. The role involves leading independent studies on the neuroimmune system and exploring therapeutic capacities in neuroinflammation and aging biology.

Responsibilities
Lead novel independent studies to address outstanding scientific questions
Leverage gained knowledge for the development of new therapeutic avenues for difficult to treat diseases
Demonstrate significant independence both experimentally and conceptually
Qualification
Required
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or MD. Ph.D. in a related field from an accredited institution
Must meet university criteria for appointment at the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow
Preferred
Successfully completed a graduate level Ph.D., M.D., or Ph.D./M.D. degree
Extensive knowledge of general molecular biology techniques
Experience directly using mice as an experimental model
Strong publication record in recognized international peer-reviewed journals
Willingness to seek extramural funding as a step towards career progression
Participation in all department related and lab related career advancement opportunities including journal clubs, seminars, and workshops
