Engineering Technician
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the Department of Transportation. This role involves collaborating with seasoned professionals in the surveying unit and gaining hands-on experience with advanced surveying technology while contributing to significant infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
Assisting in the execution of field surveys for various transportation initiatives, such as roadways, bridges, and right-of-way delineations
Learning to effectively operate essential equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors
Supporting data gathering, computation, and documentation tasks under the guidance of experienced staff
Engaging in office-based survey analysis and map preparation
Traveling to diverse project sites within their designated region
Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and PennDOT regulations during all surveying activities
Qualification
Required
An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree
Possession of a valid driver's license
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation
