Temporary Research Technician
The University of South Florida Libraries is seeking a Temporary Research Technician to join Dr. Ruisheng Liu’s lab focused on hypertension and organ injuries. The role involves conducting laboratory research, maintaining logs of experiments, and assisting other researchers in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Plans and conducts laboratory research protocols in cell and molecular biology and other related biological science disciplines under the leadership of the PI/supervisor
Must be proficient in standard laboratory techniques including PCR, mammalian tissue culture, DNA and protein electrophoresis, immunoblotting and immunofluorescence microscopy, molecular cloning
We utilize rodents as research models for human disease. Therefore, basic experience in animal handling is required, including blood sampling, post-mortem tissue isolation and compound administration by I.P. and I.V. injection, mouse husbandry and animal microsurgeries such as vessel cannulation, renal ischemia reperfusion injury induction, radio-transmitter implantation are preferred
Maintains logs and records of experiments and observations, findings and results for use in presentations and publications
Assists other researchers in the laboratory by conducting experiments
Contributes to research supply purchasing, financial management and general lab maintenance
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years of laboratory or research experience
Proficient in standard laboratory techniques including PCR, mammalian tissue culture, DNA and protein electrophoresis, immunoblotting and immunofluorescence microscopy, molecular cloning

Preferred
Bachelor's degree in natural, physical, or medical science
Experience in organ injury and rodent surgery
