Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards. Participate in internal audits and support external audits by customers, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies
Support the development and revision of quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation
Perform first article inspections (FAI) in accordance with company and AS9102 requirements. Assist in reviewing and approving manufacturing plans, process documentation, and engineering drawings for quality requirements
Support production teams with day-to-day quality issues, including facilitating MRB meetings, conducting nonconformance analysis and completing/verifying corrective actions
Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process assemblies, and finished goods using precision measurement tools
Help maintain calibration of inspection equipment and ensure proper documentation. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and 8D methodologies
Assist in evaluating supplier performance, reviewing supplier documentation, and processing supplier nonconformance reports
Collaborate with supply chain to ensure suppliers meet aerospace quality requirements
Contribute to process improvement projects aimed at reducing defects, improving yield, and increasing operational efficiency
Gather quality metrics and assist in preparing reports for management review. Must be able to view ITAR data without a license

Required

The individual works cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to support continuous improvement and maintain compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards

Knowledge Of GD&T
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with MS Office required
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities
4-year degree in engineering discipline or equivalent
Preferred
Basic understanding of quality principles and aerospace manufacturing processes
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards
Knowledge of inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs)
Experience with CAD or data analysis tools
Internship or co-op experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or quality engineering
