Responsibilities
Conduct user research through interviews, shadowing, and observation of frontline staff
Analyze current systems and data flows and map end-to-end user journeys
Identify pain points and inefficiencies to inform modernization strategies
Produce actionable outputs including journey maps, user stories, and research artifacts
Communicate insights to cross-functional teams and collaborate with design, development, and product teams
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and represent the voice of the user
Support implementation of modifications to production environments
Qualification
Required
Experience in Health and Human Services or Benefits Delivery programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, or Unemployment Insurance
Deep expertise in UX research and user-centered design practices
Minimum 2 years of UX experience focused on designing products, platforms, or services at scale
Proven ability to build successful product designs based on research
Experience across the full UX design spectrum, including information architecture, low/high-fidelity design, design systems, accessibility, prototyping, and user research
Strong stakeholder management and alignment-building skills
Experience leading design for products, platforms, or services
Familiarity with iterative or Agile development methodologies
Ability to communicate complex information effectively to foster understanding and acceptance of findings
