SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is seeking a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN to support the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program in Puget. The role involves overseeing construction quality management, evaluating contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and health requirements.

Responsibilities

You will assign work, resolve complaints, identify training needs, and evaluate performance
You will ensure consistent and comprehensive coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned construction projects
You will evaluate and assure the Quality Control (QC) efforts of the construction contractor for all projects assigned
You will attend selective quality control, preparatory and initial meetings to spot check compliance with contract requirements and establish consistency for the office
You will ensure contractor compliance of safety and health requirements
You will maintain situational awareness and assist in coordination of OSHA jobsite visits

Required

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Directing and managing engineering personnel providing construction management, construction contract technical support, and site management on projects; 2) Performing quality assurance on construction projects; 3) Utilizing various construction practices and procedures; 4) Reviewing plans and coordinating with stakeholders; 5) Resolving technical issues and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget; and 6) Utilizing computer systems and related accessories
