Senior Traffic Engineer - Indiana
Fishbeck is seeking an accomplished Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Division in Indiana. The successful candidate will oversee initiatives from concept through construction, mentor junior staff, and play a pivotal role in the continued growth of our Indiana transportation practice.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of traffic engineering components, including maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans, signing and pavement marking layouts, and traffic signal systems, ensuring compliance with INDOT standards, the Indiana Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (OMUTCD), and applicable design guidelines
Conduct traffic impact studies, safety studies, signal optimization, and traffic forecasting
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and construction cost estimates
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and communication
Mentor and support junior staff; coordinate with other disciplines and regional offices (OH, MI, IN)
Collaborate with clients, local agencies, and contractors to deliver high-quality solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
10+ years of experience in traffic engineering, including INDOT-related projects
Indiana PE license required
Proficiency in MicroStation
Strong knowledge of INDOT traffic standards and guidelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Experience with Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Synchro; TransModeler
Familiarity with ITE Trip Generation Manual, complex MOT design, and traffic studies
Experience with ITS and highway lighting design
