Responsibilities

Develop and implement work plans for soil and groundwater remediation and environmental compliance projects

Support the execution of soil, soil vapor, and groundwater investigation projects under the direction of a senior professional geologist

Oversee drilling contractors conducting soil boring advancement and well installation activities

Complete geological logs and subsequent cross-sections, figure or site plan preparation

Conduct groundwater and surface water sampling, monitoring and testing activities

Assist with onsite construction observation, contractor coordination, and daily reports

Conduct due diligence investigations and reporting

Summarize soil and groundwater field and laboratory data and assist with interpretations

Prepare and review technical reports including compilation of historical information and field generated data

Act as liaison between clients, contractors, regulatory officials and third parties on project sites

Exhibit a working understanding of health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) policies and procedures, including client-specific training (as required)

Required

Bachelor's degree in geology or geosciences

0 to 3 years of relevant experience in the environmental field

Strong writing and communication skills

Understanding of effective field procedures and protocols related to environmental assessment/cleanup

Ability to engage in creative and critical thought in order to participate and collaborate in a project team setting

Communicate in a professional and positive manner, both in writing and in person, with clients, employees, visitors, and the public at large

Strong technical writing capabilities

Recognize when technical problems are developing and collaborate with others to initiate appropriate corrective actions

Manage time to meet project budget and schedule

Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness

Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.) and multiple platforms (laptop, tablet, smart phone)

Detailed-oriented and reliable notetaker

Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor settings with frequent lifting and carrying

Availability to travel, including overnight travel

Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record

Ability to pass a drug screen

Preferred

Master's degree in geology or geological engineering

One to three years of experience in the environmental consulting field

40-hour HAZWOPER training completed
