Responsibilities

Lead on the design, build and maintenance of the data infrastructure that will power Places for People and the delivery of its business strategy

Work with multiple teams (both business and cross functional project/IT) to ensure that data is available, reliable, and scalable

Contribute to the development and delivery of our Data Strategy

Demonstrate strong technical proficiency and apply logical problem-solving to drive projects to completion

Assess challenges, determine optimal strategies, and present clear plans and accurate estimates to achieve successful, timely outcomes

Troubleshoot issues with existing data pipelines whilst also building new pipelines as per business needs

Lead on the resolution of complex requests and problems and provide expert advice on the capabilities of the Data Platform

Required

Experience in Data Engineering with a focus on ETL / ELT

Proficiency in SQL and Python

Experience with DBT, GIT, Terraform, IAM, Composer (Airflow), Docker

Strong preference for GCP (BigQuery); Minimum experience with Azure / AWS

Experience with documentation, change management, ci/cd

Understanding of Data Mesh, Test Driven Design, Agile

Ability to lead on the design, build and maintenance of data infrastructure

Strong technical proficiency and logical problem-solving skills

Ability to quickly learn and adopt emerging technologies

Creativity and innovation in developing new solutions

Capacity to produce reliable, efficient, and well-documented code

Ability to assess challenges and determine optimal strategies

Ability to present clear plans and accurate estimates for successful outcomes

Basic DBS check is mandatory for this position
