Program Manager (Special Education Program)

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and enforce program policies and procedures
Manage program data, reporting, and accreditation efforts. Develop and maintain program databases, analyze enrollment and admissions data (e.g., from Argos, Banner, Slate), and collaborate with the Office of Accreditation and Assessment to produce required reports
Oversee program informational resources and communications. Develop program handbooks, update the program website content, and manage the Program Canvas site as the central hub for resources and accreditation data collection
Manage the student life-cycle from admissions through completion. Coordinate the program's admissions process, communicate with prospective students, and work with faculty to set enrollment targets and financial aid scholarships
Provide complex administrative support and advisement to current students. Assist faculty with advisement, course plan development, and scholarship recommendations. Oversee the student registration process (DegreeWorks), ensure student files and degree audits are complete, and serve as the main liaison between students and various college offices (e.g., Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions)
Coordinate student certification, capstone projects, and alumni relations. Assist students with completing certification requirements, integrative projects, and theses, and help with alumni relations and communications
Facilitate and manage all aspects of student field placements (e.g., practica, student teaching). This includes exploring and meeting with potential sites in the NYC region, observing placement sites, making recommendations for placements, and collaborating with college offices on necessary affiliation agreements
Ensure student compliance with placement requirements. Manage and communicate placement paperwork deadlines and requirements (e.g., Exxat, Time2Track)
Manage program budget materials and scholarship allocation. Prepare materials for budget planning, reporting, and analysis, and manage the process of scholarship allocation decisions in consultation with program leadership
Oversee operational tasks and personnel. Co-supervise student workers, including training and evaluation, and organize program special events (e.g., orientations, guest speakers, webinars)
Qualification
Required
Master's degree required with teacher certification
Familiarity with and/or experience in practicum settings for the respective program/discipline
Knowledgeable about the culture of schools and higher education institutions
Detail oriented
Skilled multitasker with a team player approach
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent judgment and ability to problem-solve
Strong digital and technical skills (word processing, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and/or other database capabilities) and readiness to work with TC software/systems
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong student-centered orientation
Preferred
Experience working in higher education within the respective program/disciplinary area
Experience with practicum/fieldwork sites in the NYC region
Special Education and/or BCBA certification is preferred, given the programs and certifications
Availability on some evenings to meet with students
