Responsibilities

Rooming patients for clinic visits including patient intake
Prep clinic exam and procedure rooms and turn over rooms between patient visits
Restock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
Specimen procession, bench lab testing and quality control monitoring
Immunization and medication administration
Complex coordination with physicians, nursing, and clerical for safe and quality patient care
Clean, sanitize, and disinfect equipment according to established protocols
Chaperone provider and PT examinations

Required

Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients
1-3 years of experience (for Associate Level)
Knowledge of basic medical terminology (for Associate Level)
0-1 years of experience (for Assistant Level)
Some office experience (for Assistant Level)

Preferred

Certification as a Medical Assistant desired
1-3 years previous experience in assisting healthcare provider with patient care, preferably in outpatient physician office setting, ambulatory care setting
Experience working in a high-risk OB Clinic; hands on experience with obstetrics and gynecology procedures and IUD's including female exams and Pap smears; knowledge of surgical instruments
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting
Communicates effectively
Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills
Competence in computer usage, telephone etiquette, participate in team and staff meetings, and follow clinic guidelines and protocols
Must have history of excellent attendance and punctuality
Demonstrated abilities to efficiently manage time and prioritize multiple tasks
