Responsibilities

Supervises Museum Educator I, part-time employees, volunteers, interns, and contractual employees

Responsible for fiscal management, and personnel roles to direct the education department

Coordinates all educational outreach, including virtual and social media programs

Responsible for presentation of the region’s history by interpretation and development of materials and programs related to exhibits and programs

Recruits and trains volunteers and staff as museum docents to provide tours with training agendas

Works with head of artifact collections and exhibits to develop and pair educational programs with related history

Supervises and oversees the information-reception specialists

Responsible for greeting visitors and providing museum information

Provides written materials suitable for publications, such as newspapers, museum magazines, social media, and program brochures

Must be able to establish and maintain an effective professional working relationship with museum staff, government officials, academic and public advisors, museum board, volunteers, and the public

Required to represent the museum in a variety of program offerings and public functions
