Responsibilities

Will analyze high-level needs using a structured, logical approach and develop system architecture solutions and concepts for new and emerging capabilities in collaboration with other architects, including the lead Systems Architect, software architects, network architects, and cyber architects
Will communicate and collaborate with software developers, network engineers, cyber engineers, DevSecOps teams, infrastructure teams, test teams, and deployment teams to develop both physical and logical architectures across the system
Will collaborate with project leads, product owners, and MDA customers
Will present architecture concepts to diverse audiences and serve as the primary contact for System Architecture during development, testing, and deployment efforts
Help document or review architecture using MBSE tools like CAMEO
Should stay informed about current and emerging technologies and design methodologies relevant to DoD Command and Control systems and COTS/FOSS information technology products

Required

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master's degree (preferred) in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related field with 4 years of relevant work experience
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Excellent communication skills are crucial, including the ability to clearly present technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers

Preferred

Must have Systems Engineering or Architecture experience with Testing as a desired skill on a DoD program
Should aspire to become a Systems Architect on a complex Command and Control DoD project
Must possess at least two of the following skill sets: Over two years of experience with C2BMC or similar complex DoD Command and Control (C2) systems; Experience in designing new system architecture concepts and solutions; Work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software, or Networking within a collaborative team working with other systems, software, and specialized engineers to develop solutions for a DoD program; Experience as a Technical Lead, Systems Engineering SME, or technical leader in the Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 domains
We are also looking for candidates with the following skills and experience: Experience working on teams that design systems using existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability in mind; Experience collaborating within integrated teams involving systems, software, and specialists to develop solutions; Experience in identifying system capabilities, defining and communicating them to developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users, as well as producing architecture artifacts to document and manage these capabilities; Proven ability to develop system engineering and architecture documents such as Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, and more; Experience in preparing briefings, reviewing architecture designs and artifacts, and presenting at DoD Customer Design Reviews; Experience as a technical leader in DoD systems engineering or development projects; Familiar with private cloud solutions and IT technologies such as VMWare, Nutanix, RedHat, and network solutions; Knowledge of DoD Cyber requirements, RMF, and associated solutions; Experience in software development, especially with Java-based applications; Understanding DevSecOps and/or Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) methodologies and solutions; Familiarity with Agile development methodologies; Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo tools; Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS
