Responsibilities

Build and guide effective program teams, establishing goal and strategy, coach and develop direct reports, assisting with career planning, make effective talent decisions and foster a collaborative, and supportive team environment
Drive portfolio strategy and the full life-cycle of network orders (space, power, fiber, wavelength), define technical requirements for outside plant construction, easements, and optical site development, implement process improvements for bidding and construction oversight to maximize efficiency
Lead governance to drive executive decisions and mitigate risks in fiber construction and Point of Presence (PoP) build-outs, collaborate with internal partners (Planning, Deployment) and external vendors to deliver cost-effective solutions, partner with negotiators to cultivate vendor relationships and manage contract workflows
Apply advanced domain knowledge (fiber optics, colocation, power) to influence technical roadmaps, align executives on sensitive communications and represent the portfolio across Google Cloud Platform

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience managing fiber construction projects, including inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure
5 years of experience managing teams of technical program managers or engineers, including performance management and career coaching
4 years of experience in program management within network infrastructure, specifically regarding dark fiber, lit fiber, and colocation agreements

Preferred

8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
5 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge of DWDM, IP networking, and power distribution design
