Responsibilities

Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization's compensation administration functions
Leads direct reports and provides technical advice and knowledge
Participates in the development of the Division's strategic plans and translates them into strategic and operational plans for Compensation Administration
Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory actions as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of staff
Establishes credibility throughout the organization to be an effective leader and problem solver of people-related issues
Develops and manages a progressive and proactive total compensation program that includes base compensation, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives to support our talent strategy while managing cost for the university
Ensures compliance of compensation structure and pay policies
Develops and implements policies, programs, and manager training to ensure effective leadership and management of compensation team members
Streamlines business processes by leveraging technology and ensures that the HR team, management, and employees can successfully utilize HR systems in compensation processes where appropriate
Continuously evaluates the compensation functions, structures and teams
Plans for improved efficiency and effectiveness
Provides individuals with professional and personal growth where possible
Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing
The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of professional experience with experience in a management role, or Master's degree and six (6) years of professional experience and experience in a management role
Experience designing and implementing compensation programs
Experience using Enterprise systems
Experience in coaching/consulting senior leaders within the organization
Strong communication skills
Strong working knowledge of Compensation programs
Solid working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and federal legislation related to employment practices and general HR administration
