Responsibilities

5+ years of increasingly responsible employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side
Familiarity with and experience in federal and state court practice, as well as with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state and local government administrative agencies
Litigation experience, including drafting responsive pleadings, handling all aspects of the discovery process, and drafting motions, including motions for summary judgment. Candidates should also have the ability to handle a practice that includes handling EEOC charges, including defending investigations, preparing position statements, defending clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, representing clients in mediations and conciliations, and negotiating settlements
A collegiate, cooperative approach and enjoy working with experienced lawyers sharing ideas, resources and best practices
A desire to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, on track position. You do the work you agree to take on, with no obligations for marketing or other contribution hours
Strong time management skills, and a flexibility around potential work flow. There is no billable hours expectation, and your schedule is up to you! Ideally, however, we would like candidates to commit to being available to work 1000 or more hours per hours a year depending on the specific casework
An active bar license in the state in which you will reside and one in which Seyfarth maintains an office
