OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST
DC Department of Human Resources is seeking an Operations Research Analyst for the D.C. Department of Corrections. The role involves providing technical assistance in performance measurement and operational reporting, as well as conducting operations analysis studies to enhance organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Provides technical assistance to line managers in constructing metrics and associated data capturing and reporting mechanisms for measuring operational performance and supporting day to day monitoring of business processes; and provides technical assistance in analysis of performance data and guidance related to assessment of appropriate targets
Prepares briefings for a variety of consumers including DOC managers, Executive Branch officials and D.C. Council members on correctional performances trends; and develops official DOC operational and performance reports for internal/or external distribution subject to review and approval by Strategic Planning and Analysis Manager
Provides technical assistance to managers on the design data collection instruments and surveys; and conducts operations and analysis studies upon request; and applies operations research tools methodologies to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness; and responds to special data requests authorized by the Director
Qualification
Required
Degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics probabilities, statistics mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college level mathematics or statistics
At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus
Specialized experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the line of progression
