Responsibilities

Design and build robust quantitative models to support portfolio construction, risk analytics, and investment research
Develop and automate data pipelines and analytical processes using Python, SQL, and modern data engineering technologies
Explore opportunities to incorporate advanced analytical techniques, including AI-driven automation, to streamline workflows and enhance data interpretation
Collaborate with data engineers, investment professionals, and technology teams to implement scalable modeling and automation solutions
Evaluate new datasets, tools, and external data providers to enhance Oaktree’s investment process
Document and communicate technical concepts, model methodologies, and analytical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the firm

Required

Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with strong problem-solving capabilities
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
Familiarity with databases, data modeling, and statistical methods
Experience with scientific computing and machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Exposure to fixed income securities and a foundational understanding of financial instruments and markets
Curiosity, initiative, and a strong desire to develop new technical and analytical capabilities
Degree in engineering, computer science, financial engineering, operations research, or a related quantitative discipline
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative
Responsible, dedicated, and committed to producing high-quality work
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Team-oriented, with high levels of integrity and professionalism
Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a high GPA from a university or college

Preferred

Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus
