Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and support AC power distribution systems for commercial, industrial, or critical facilities
Specify, evaluate, and support AC UPS systems and standby/emergency generators, including load calculations and redundancy planning
Design and maintain DC telecommunications power systems, including rectifiers, distribution panels, and battery plants
Perform power system studies, equipment sizing, and technical evaluations
Support installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of power systems
Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians as needed
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC, etc.)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
4–10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license (PE preferred)
Demonstrated experience with AC power distribution systems
Demonstrated experience with AC UPS systems and backup generators
Demonstrated experience with DC power systems for telecommunications and battery technologies
Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and industry standards
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience with mission-critical facilities (telecommunications, data centers, utilities, or industrial sites)
Familiarity with battery technologies (VRLA, lithium-ion, or flooded lead-acid)
Experience working in remote or cold-weather environments
Knowledge of power monitoring, controls, and system integration
