Engineering - Maintenance Technician (Kaimuki)

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. The role involves hands-on maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative general maintenance inspections and repairs: painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical (light replacement/ballast,driver replacement), mechanical and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)/Chiller Readings/AC install (window units), and grounds maintenance
Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers, vendors, customers, etc
Able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs up to 75lbs, walk, bend, stretch during shift
Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary
Create and maintain work orders
Create and maintain purchase orders
Ability to work in warm/hot conditions, utilize stairs, and navigate up and down a ladder
Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) supervisor/property management
Ability to work in hot conditions, utilize stairs, and navigate up and down a ladder

Must pass background check
High school diploma/GED
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Must have basic hand tools
General preventative maintenance experience is required (Basic commercial plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall)
Troubleshooting abilities
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
Good public relations skills and communication
Customer service oriented
Strong organizational skills
Ability to perform basic manual labor
Ability to frequently lift, press, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs (up to 80lbs)
Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down a stairway, climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout their shift
Willingness to learn and improve
Ability to work in warm/hot conditions
Ability to utilize stairs and navigate up and down a ladder
