Responsibilities
Work closely with business & IT stakeholders to gather req & translate business needs into tech specifications, including identification of data sources
Architect & implement scalable, secure & efficient data solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and/or data marts
Design conceptual, logical & physical data models
Evaluate, recommend & implement tools aligned with recommended architecture, including visualization tools aligned with business needs
Design, develop & test data pipelines, integrations to source mgt & ETL / ELT processes to move data from various sources into the data warehouse
Design, create & maintain an enterprise-wide data catalog, automating metadata ingestion, establishing data dictionaries, and ensuring that all data assets are properly documented & tagged
Enforce data governance policies through the data catalog, ensuring data quality, security & compliance
Enable self-service data discovery for users by curating & organizing data assets in an intuitive way
Monitor & optimize BI systems & data pipelines to ensure high performance, reliability & cost-effectiveness
Provide technical guidance & mentorship across the organization, establishing best practices for data mgt & BI development
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering & business strategy
Experience in architecting data solutions for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive & prescriptive analytics
Ability to work closely with business & IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications
Experience in architecting & implementing scalable, secure & efficient data solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and/or data marts
Ability to design conceptual, logical & physical data models
Experience in evaluating, recommending & implementing tools aligned with recommended architecture, including visualization tools
Experience in designing, developing & testing data pipelines, integrations to source management & ETL/ELT processes
Ability to design, create & maintain an enterprise-wide data catalog, automating metadata ingestion, establishing data dictionaries
Experience in enforcing data governance policies ensuring data quality, security & compliance
Ability to monitor & optimize BI systems & data pipelines for high performance, reliability & cost-effectiveness
Experience in providing technical guidance & mentorship across the organization
Ability to define data platform tech stack
Experience with data platforms including dimensional modeling & cloud services (S3, AWS Redshift, RDS, Azure Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Informatica)
Experience with databases including SQL & relational/non-relational (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, Tableau, Crystal, Looker
Experience with ETL/ELT tools including cloud native (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow) & in-warehouse transform tools (Fivetran, Talend, dbt)
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
Experience with programming/API languages including Python, Keras, Scikit-learn, R, XML
Experience with ML/DL/Analytic Engines such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Trillium, Apache Spark
Experience with modeling tools such as MS Visio, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner
Ability to work on-site at OCIT Building a minimum of two days a week
