Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence. They are currently seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize their database infrastructure, combining core DBA responsibilities with system administration tasks.

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2016+)

Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexes and statistics

Implement and manage backup, recovery, and high availability strategies

Perform system administration tasks including patching, scripting, and server configuration

Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools

Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments

Ensure database and system security through access controls and auditing

Troubleshoot and resolve database and server issues in production and non-production environments

Document procedures, configurations, and best practices

Required

Minimum of 5 years experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of the degree

SQL Server DBA experience

A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph

Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design

Solid understanding of Windows Server administration

Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages

Familiarity with backup tools, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery planning

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Excellent communication and documentation abilities
