Responsibilities

Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day
Lead, support, and reinforce company culture, guest service, and performance expectations across the deli team
Partner with the Human Resources Manager to maintain appropriate staff levels by interviewing and extending job offers to qualified candidates
Provide thorough and consistent training for new Deli associates and offer ongoing support to enhance retention
Set a strong example for the team and ensure a positive customer experience
Assist guests with locating items both on and off the sales floor, and address guest concerns with service or product-related issues
Manage the presentation of the service case, ensuring products are visually appealing and rotated to meet quality standards. Maintain accurate inventory and temperature logs
Ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 AM and 5 PM
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment, including shelving, sales floors, and other necessary areas
Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

Required

High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 3+ years of leadership experience (preferably in retail or restaurant settings)
Strong ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team while maintaining a positive and productive work environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
A complete understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, along with knowledge of proper procedures for equipment and safety hazards
Solid knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising, as well as the ability to make effective and timely decisions
Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Full range of upper body motion
Ability to work at a fast pace
May be exposed to extreme temperatures such as kitchens, coolers, freezers, and sales floors
