Co-Founder
GAYEN FAMILY FARM is an early-stage international agricultural venture focused on sustainable farming and food security in The Gambia. The Co-Founder will shape the company's legal foundations and governance structures while contributing to business development and operational strategy in a hybrid or remote environment.
Responsibilities
Co-lead company strategy, governance, and long-term vision
Support legal structuring, compliance, and risk management across jurisdictions
Assist in drafting and reviewing:
Founders’ agreements
Partnership and supplier contracts
Land-use, lease, and agricultural agreements
Support regulatory compliance related to:
Agriculture and land tenure
International operations and cross-border transactions
Corporate formation and governance
Contribute to business development, partnerships, and investor readiness
Oversee or support sales, marketing, and distribution strategy
Conduct market, legal, and regulatory research
Collaborate with local teams, advisors, and external counsel
Qualification
Required
Expertise in law, legal strategy, or regulatory compliance
Backgrounds may include corporate law, international law, agriculture law, compliance, or policy
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Experience in contracts, governance, or risk management
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in early-stage ambiguity
Ability to work across cultures and jurisdictions
Preferred
Interest or experience in agriculture, sustainability, food systems, or emerging markets (strong plus)
A law degree (JD or equivalent) or significant professional legal experience is highly preferred, though exceptional practical experience may substitute
