The State of Tennessee is seeking a Regulatory Board Administrative Assistant to support the Department of Health. This role involves handling administrative activities for regulatory boards, including evaluating applications, processing payments, and coordinating reports.

Responsibilities
Reviews and evaluates licensure/applications, permits, certifications, and/or other statements of authority for completeness and accuracy and makes recommendations to accept or reject in accordance with applicable rules and regulations
Maintains and processes licensure payment records and accounts for fees to include refunds and returned checks. Enters and/or revises data from multiple sources into database
Coordinates the collection and preparation of reports for submission to the board. Discusses any issues concerning the preparation of reports with supervisor
Examines the status of cases and relates findings to appropriate personnel
Responds to applicant inquiries and provides information to external entities regarding licenses and related information. May handles complaints and explain policy and procedures
Schedules and notifies applicants of competency examinations. May coordinate meetings for pertinent boards and commissions
May issue licenses, certificates, registration, or other statements of authority to practice in an occupation or profession
May instruct peers and subordinates on the performance of job duties. May order equipment and supplies
Qualification
Required
Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school
Experience equivalent to three years of full-time work in one or a combination of management, administrative support to management, or clerical experience
Course work credit received from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a month-for-month basis to a maximum of three years
Experience equivalent to one year as a Licensing Technician with the State of Tennessee
A valid driver's license
For the past five years, the candidate's driver record must not have record of the following violations: driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, more than 4 moving violations
