Responsibilities

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems

Required

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
Experience in developing and maintaining applications using COBOL, DB2, CICS, IMS DC/DB ensuring robust and efficient mainframe solutions, and follow the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure structured and efficient software development processes
Develop and manage CICS (Customer Information Control System) applications for transaction processing in mainframe environments
Knowledge on IMS (Information Management System) for hierarchical database management and transaction processing in mainframe environments
Design and optimize databases using DB2, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability
Deep knowledge on Schedule and monitor batch jobs using CA7, ensuring timely and efficient execution of critical business processes
Hands on with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) for efficient data storage and retrieval in mainframe environments
Experience with Change Man/Endeavor for version control and change management, supporting efficient deployment
Utilize REXX for scripting and automation, enhancing productivity and efficiency in mainframe operations
Implement ZOS Connect API for integrating mainframe applications with modern web and mobile applications
Manage source code and version control using GIT, facilitating collaborative development and code management
