Responsibilities
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems, including Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database
Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency
Develop and execute backup and recovery plans to safeguard data integrity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define database requirements and support project goals
Perform regular audits to ensure data security and compliance with organizational policies
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, minimizing downtime and disruptions
Implement and manage replication and clustering solutions for high availability
Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures
Conduct capacity planning and recommend upgrades or changes to meet future needs
Stay updated on industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into database management practices
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in managing Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database environments
Strong knowledge of MySQL and Microsoft SQL, including experience with performance tuning techniques
Expertise in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for databases
Familiarity with database security protocols and best practices
Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and implement effective solutions
Experience with clustering, replication, and other high-availability methods
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to document database systems and processes clearly and thoroughly
