Electrical Commissioning Engineer
WorkingBuildings is a company that specializes in construction project management and commissioning services. They are seeking a Commissioning Authority Level 3 who will take on increased responsibility in project planning, coordination, and client interaction while focusing on advanced troubleshooting and project management within commissioning projects.
Responsibilities
Perform and document detailed design reviews to ensure system compliance and readiness
Review contractor submittals for accuracy and alignment with commissioning requirements
Conduct on-site construction inspections and generate thorough, actionable reports
Identify, track, and assist in resolving non-compliance issues found during inspections
Develop and execute pre-functional and functional performance test scripts for commissioned systems
Lead functional performance testing, ensuring systems operate as intended
Manage the identification and reconciliation of issues uncovered during testing, coordinating resolution with project teams
Prepare clear, concise technical reports and maintain consistent written communication with stakeholders
Utilize analytical tools and test equipment to evaluate and validate system performance
Work independently and proactively, managing tasks with minimal supervision
Interpret construction drawings, control schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams to support field execution and troubleshooting
Qualification
Required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate system performance and resolve issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction and documentation
Ability to interpret complex technical documents, including construction drawings and system specifications
Proven project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality assurance and compliance
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university OR equivalent applicable industry experience (10 years)
Ability to obtain commissioning authority certification within 2 years of initial employment
OSHA 10 safety training course
Degreed engineers should have obtained their EIT
Degreed engineers on course to obtain PE within 2 years of employment
Regular travel to local and out of town project sites and meetings will be required
Project requirements drive travel schedules and will sometimes require 50-60% of your time committed to out-of-town projects
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments; must also be able to drive in various conditions to conduct work
Work involves moderate exposure to elements like hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises
Work environment involves exposure to construction, mechanical, and electrical-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, and to negotiate work areas under construction
