Responsibilities

Create a positive, energetic and respectful work environment within the department
Leads through example, professionalism, personal values, and vision
Provide temporary management support to prevent department disruptions
Eager to offer assistance, “pitch-in”, and to be seen as a team player among the staff
Maintain effective system and control procedures as set forth in the policies and procedures manuals
Coordinate with Director of Finance the month-end closing process – including preparation of journal entries
Ability to complete and/or manage accounts payable and account receivable responsibilities
Management of Accounting staff in absence of Controller/Director of Finance
Oversee and manage cash handling and deposits
Ensures compliance regarding all financial practices and regulations
Monthly bank account reconciliations
Balance sheet account reconciliations
Ensure all revenue is properly accounted for. Produce daily revenue report. Interact with night audit team as needed
Ensure daily credit card transactions are processed correctly
Oversee general cashier and the proper cash handling and bank deposits
Support accounts payable, including invoices, weekly check runs, review expenses of the business
Review physical inventories
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Finance
Create mandated hotel/corporate reports in a consistent and timely manner

Required

Knowledge in a variety of hotel accounting and payroll systems and PMS software
Ability to travel 100% of time
A minimum of 5 years of RECENT successful hotel experience
Possess a maturity and professional disposition to operate in our clients' dynamic environments
Creative and innovative problem solver
Strong management skills and a proactive approach to supporting hotel needs
Ability to adapt quickly and perform under high expectations
Ability to communicate effectively and work under pressure
Ability to meet deadlines and embrace ongoing change
Requires excellent organization, time management, interpersonal skills
Must be an ambitious self-starter with a desire to learn
Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact
Eligibility to work in the US
