Unix System Engineer

Responsibilities

Work on a Unix team supporting 600+ Unix/Linux servers
Assist in growing the Linux presence in AWS
Participate in 24x7 On-Call rotation and after hours support as required
Read, modify, write, and debug scripts (shell, perl, python, etc.)
Install, configure, patch RHEL on a variety of physical and virtual platforms
Utilize Splunk for Log Review
Perform daily monitoring of servers and maintenance as needed
Analyze and develop technical documentation
Provide direct support to customers and stakeholders, manage support requests
Other duties as assigned

Required

5 Years Experience supporting RHEL/CentOS Systems
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA6/7/8) Certification
Intermediate ability with Satellite Server and Ansible Tower
Proven Experience with Linux Hosting in AWS
Experience in Vulnerability Mitigation / OS Hardening
Creation and configuration of file systems (NFS/CIFS)
Expert proficiency in Logical Volume Management
Significant Experience with an Enterprise Monitoring\Ticketing System
Demonstrated analytic problem-solving ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Time management and organizational aptitude
Ability to work independently

Preferred

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE6/7/8)
Familiar with Oracle ODA Infrastructure (Nodes and VMs)
Experience with Terraform
Tier 1 VMware Administration
Experience with Oracle Linux
Resource in a NOC/SOC environment
Prior Work on a Government Contract
