Responsibilities

Lead and manage the lifecycle of complex cross-functional projects with considerable impact. Projects may span organizations or geographies in support of a business objective

Design, develop, and emulate engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges considering human/equipment interactions for the North America fulfilment network

Design, develop and configure IIoT hardware for equipment, process, and operator workflow improvements

Solid understanding of Linux systems, sensors, and camera hardware

Hands on experience with computer vision models (YOLO, CNNs) including training, fine tuning, and deployment

Ability to deploy and optimize models on edge devices (Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, CPU/GPU boards)

Experience working with industrial environments, PLC connected sensors, and real time data streams

Familiarity with Amazon SageMaker for model training and tuning

Strong Python skills with experience building end to end vision pipelines

Ability to integrate vision outputs with dashboards, APIs, and UI teams

Lead and coordinate concept efforts for optimal solutions for the North America fulfilment network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, ergonomics, associate experience, operational considerations, and site layout

Work with Scientists to create highly advanced simulation models and run 'what-if' scenarios to help drive to optimal Hardware solutions

Work closely with internal teams to ensure that every detail is thought through and documented using Standard Operating Procedures and/or structured change control

Work closely with vendors, suppliers and other teams to come up with innovative solutions

Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners

Artifact (research, schematics, specifications, prototypes, 3D Models, analysis, test plans, strategic narratives, etc.) and set the standard in organization for engineering excellence

Able to communicate ideas effectively to achieve the right outcome for team and customer. Seek diverse perspectives, listen to feedback, and are willing to change direction if it creates a better outcome. Harmonize discordant views and lead the resolution of contentious issues (build consensus)

Travel up to 30% throughout North America, which can vary up to three weeks consecutive travel including weekends

Required

Prior Hardware engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including custom product development, design, implementation, enhancement, and support

Ability to work with talented engineers and scientists in the development and delivery of physical distribution systems

Lead initiatives and complex cross-functional projects or programs focusing on building new, altering existing, and closing end-of-life material handling and technology systems

Lead the design and development of hardware, including sensors and edge compute devices for next generation Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform

Established background in delivering high-performance physical systems

Strong technical problem-solving abilities

Project management skills

Internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment

Participate in the full system development life cycle, including test plan execution and solution quality needs

Responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment

30% travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling
