Responsibilities

Managing and continuously improving assigned EH&S programs including JHAs, PPE hazard assessments, RIDII (Safety Concern Near Miss tool), solid and hazardous waste management, sustainability programs, audits and inspections, managing contractors, wastewater, stormwater, and air emissions
Performing a variety of EH&S related inspections and maintaining internal audit readiness
Ensuring waste management activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
Oversight of refrigerant and air management programs
Supporting implementation of process-focused improvements, e.g., Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) methods
Analysis of leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions
Conducting first aid and OSHA injury investigations as well as conducting root cause analyses / developing corrective actions and tracking to completion
Contributing to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
Developing and delivering EHS training to affected employees and contractors
Daily interpretation and application of internal Raytheon and external (e.g., OSHA, EPA, TCEQ) standards and regulations
Assisting with emergency drills
Participating in HazMat and Medical emergency response

Required

Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Experience working with OSHA, EPA and / or TCEQ regulations

Preferred

Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills
Ability to plan, organize, delegate, and follow-up on workflow in a team environment to meet departmental goals and objectives
Good understanding of databases and use of other information gathering systems
Be flexible to accept additional assignments, campaigns and rotations to other EHS programs including environmental and sustainability
Well-developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental health and safety, chemistry, biology, industrial/safety engineering, or related field
